The main concept behind plate-plate is the same as it is in all of my designs, to bring a smile to peoples faces. Food presented on an illustrated plate (with accompanying knife & fork) looks so much cuter and playful than it does on a regular plate.

However, Dawn Jackson Blatner, food and nutrition expert and registered dietitian from Chicago, USA, has found another way in which plate-plate can be used. Food looks best on plate-plate when it sits within the illustrated plate, and so can therefore be used as a method of controlling your meal portion size. Dawn presented plate-plate on TV, during her segment titled “Gadgets for a healthy 2014” on channel “WGN Chicago”. You can watch the full episode here (plate-plate features at 02:34).
