Numbers are printed on vertical sliders and only reveal themselves when they are shifted into perfect alignment with the 'display box'. When not aligned, the numbers look like random forms, and the clock, although recognised visually as a digital/electronic clock (number iconography), it is clearly a printed, mechanical device
The clock uses 3 servos, coupled with intricate mechanics to tick over time. It is controller and regulated using a PIC16F628 microcontroller. The sliders are gradually cranked up in accurate time.
