|cloud keyholder detail|
The production Cloud Keyholder is now available to buy at the dshott shop. The wall mounted cloud is made from plastic and has 3 hidden magnets to hold your keys (and your partners and your bikes!).
The design is licensed to, and manufactured by SUCK UK. If you're a retailer, and would like to stock the cloud, please contact the SUCK UK sales team
Before being licensed to Suck UK, a limited batch of 150 self-produced clouds were cast in solid jesmonite. They measured 97mm across, weighed about 165g & had a matte, porcelain-like finish. (See shots with packaging below)
Each embedded neodymium magnet held up to 220g of keys or other magnetic items. Each cloud came supplied with a pack of screws and wall-plugs (to use where appropriate). Fixed 60mm horizontally apart on a vertical surface (using a spirit level to get them nice and straight!) the screws suppoorted the clouds which could simply be hooked onto the wall using the stainless steel back plate.
The design originals were exhibited at the designboom mart, stand AG:35A, Stockholm furniture fair, Sweden, from the 8th - 12th February 2011, alongside 30 other designers and their products from across the globe. A lucky few also picked up one or two at the dshott handmade shop on etsy
On the 9th June 2011 at the bargehouse, London, Duncan presented his cloud project in pecha kucha style (20 slides, 20 seconds each) to an audience at madeinbrunel. Watch the video below or on vimeo.
